Step 1 Cleaning: Before wrapping your AK-47, it is vital to thoroughly inspect, prep, and clean the surface of your gun. Make sure your gun is empty before beginning the application process. Oil and grease will be present and must be completely removed. If not, the material will not properly stick to the surface. We recommend using a degreaser formulated for guns to remove any oil or grease from your gun's surface.
Isopropyl alcohol should be used to remove any residue left behind. It is helpful to use a small soft brush to scrub into the crevices of your AK-47 to ensure that your gun is clean. Wrapping your AK-47 with your bare hands may add natural oil or grease to your gun, so we recommend washing your hands with dish soap after cleaning your gun prior to installation.
Step 2: Look at all the universal pieces included in your kit. The items highlighted in red have relief cuts. Take your time removing the pieces from the backing of the sheet as they can tear easily. See below
Step 3 Primer: (Optional step) Apply primer in problem areas that can lift to help with longevity of your wrap. We recommend adding primer to all wood parts unless the finish is like new, See below.
Step 4: Apply a cut strip over the area under the selector switch (slide the switch a few times to see where the strip would need to be placed), as this area will need to be removed later to allow proper functionality without tearing the wrap. The wrap will be applied over the cut strip. See below
Step 5: Apply all pieces as shown below. Our kits are universal and may require additional trimming for a custom fit. Line the pieces up and apply firm pressure using your fingers or glove. See below
Step 6: Line up the top pieces one at a time using the small v notches to help find the center of the gun apply the center using firm pressure with your fingers or glove. Complete application then trim all excess. See below
Step 7: Cut both sides of the wrap following both sides of the cut strip carefully under the selector switch. See below
Step 7 Mag Install: Align the mag wrap to the center of the front of mag using the v cuts as a guide. See below
Wrap one side (some heat and slight bending will be required to follow the shape of the mag). There are relief cuts to assist with the shaping process. Wrap the other side after trimming the first side. See below
